Trusts & Estates Section – Financial Exploitation: Prevention, Recognition and Intervention

Hear from a Rice County adult protection investigator and an elder law attorney about common scenarios of financial exploitation including powers of attorneys, fiduciaries, caregivers – professional and family. They will explore statutory protections including the Minnesota Vulnerable Adult Act, guardianship and conservatorships, state and federal health care regulations, and statutory power of attorney. Vicki Huber is a social worker who has conducted hundreds of vulnerable adult investigations. Josh Casper is a former regional long-term care ombudsman, currently in private practice as an attorney practicing in elder law in Roseville, MN.
