Goal
of the program
The principal goal of the mentoring program is to provide a group of experienced,
respected, ethical members of the RCBA to serve as mentors to RCBA member
protégés who would like to have the guidance, encouragement,
and support of professional colleagues.
Mentors are not technical
resource persons, although they can help protégés find sources
of technical information. Mentors seem to serve best in giving advice
and support on ethical questions, issues of civility and professionalism,
and the challenges of balancing demanding professional duties with family
and personal life. Mentors also help protégés find sources
of networking in their areas of practice.
Meetings
Mentors and protégés are expected to meet in person at least
once per quarter. It is the responsibility of the protégé
to schedule those meetings. In addition, mentors and protégés
are encouraged to communicate on a more regular basis by telephone or
email.
All
mentors and protégés will also meet as a group once each
quarter. CLE credit is available for some of the meetings.
Meeting
information will be available shortly
All meetings will
be held at the Minnesota Judicial Center in room G-31.
Additional Information
A Mentoring Guidebook will be provided to all mentors and protégés.
