If you are a family law attorney practicing in Minnesota and haven’t had a case involving the new August 1, 2018 Parenting Expense Adjustment yet, you will soon. The purpose of the parenting expense adjustment is the same, but the methodology is improved to better reflect the time and money parents spend with their children during parenting time. The most significant changes are how to calculate the amount of time parents spend with their children and application of that time to a algebraic formula. You went to law school to avoid math? Time is lost on you? Do not worry, there are worksheets and calculators ready for you to use. Come join this expert panel who will show you how to calculate the time and apply that time to the formula, discuss how modifications of support will work, and provide you with practical tips and answer your questions.
